I started this blog to record my beekeeping activities here in the mountains of Southern West Virginia. Our location creates problems for beekeepers because the weather is unlike areas just a few miles distant. For instance although we are further south than the Huntington WV area our season is about two weeks behind theirs. I started beekeeping when my brother-in-law (Ray) brought me a bee hive in 1979. I am treasurer of "The Mercer County Beekeeper Association"
